I think many students do not actively use the technology that currently in schools today because they have not truly learned how to use it. A lot of teachers do not know how to use all the technological resources to their full potential, which puts the students at a disadvantage. If the teacher does not know how to use the technology it is unrealistic to believe the students will understand and be able to accurately use the current technology within the schools.
Technology is constantly changing and it is really hard for educators to stay up to date with all the technology. In some cases the students may know more about some of the current technology than the teachers may.
